The Village at Crestwood Care Centre is a Special Care Dementia Community designed to meet the unique needs of those with Dementia. The Village provides a place to enhance physical, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being. Our secure Dementia care community was developed in accordance with the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center.

We provide Person Centered Care, based on the residents’ individual needs and interests. The Village incorporates well planned, repetitive activities that are paced to meet the needs of cognitively impaired individuals.

Activities incorporate sensory stimulation, such as: pet therapy, excursions, baking, religious services, physical activities and special celebrations, for each individual. Staff members deliver individualized personal care.

Our staff members are educated annually on Person Centered Care, and the Best Friends Approach to Dementia Care:

• Contact methods for effective communication
• Catering for Special interests and abilities
• Maintaining regular schedules
• Simplifying choices
• Monthly Alzheimer’s Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 2pm on the first floor. No reservations are required.  Refreshments served.
