In addition to caring for the residents individually, the concierge program directly supports all other departments; such as housekeeping, serving meals, laundry, activities and social services. They easily become a liaison for family members who want to keep up on the daily lives of their loved one. The concierge’ close relationships with their residents can provide insight into the physical and emotional status of a resident. The emotional support of the concierge can be very helpful in motivating a resident struggling through rehab or health issues.
Currently, there are two positions being held in the Concierge Department. Ana Ramos has been with Crestwood for 5 years. She said of her position, “I love interacting with the residents and their families. It’s important that the families are able to trust in the fact that I will take care of their loved one as they would.” It is the genuine care and kindness that makes this program so invaluable. Rosalyn Clay, 4 years with Crestwood said, “My passion is working with the elderly. I love to see the reactions on their faces when I visit them each day. I’m just as happy to see them as they are me. We’re all friends, so it doesn't even seem like a job.”
