Crestwood Care Centre recently held a special event to commemorate the 66th anniversary of the ending of WWII.  The national campaign, "Keep the Spirit of '45 Alive",Crestwood Care Centre-Crestwood, IL-Pam Burak with veteran and resident, Richard Winbald, during the "Keep the Spirit of '45 Alive" ceremony. was created to pay tribute to the veterans, as well as the citizens, who did their parts to secure a victory and end the war.  Throughout the country, on and around August 14th, local communities held celebrations to honor these men and women who helped make America what it is today.Crestwood Care Centre-Crstwood, IL-Pam Burak prsents veteran and resident, James Johnson, with a pin during the During the presentation, all veterans were presented with a pin and those from WWII also received a certificate.  Several of the veterans shared their experiences and feelings about the war and the roles they played.  Resident, Richard Winbald concluded the ceremony by reading a verse from Isaiah.  VITAS staff also provided a beautiful cake for the occassion which they, with the help of Crestwood Care Centre employees, helped serve to the many guests in attendance.
Crestwood Care Centre would like to thank VITAS Hospice for their wonderful, patriotic and inspirational presentation. We also would like to thank the many men and women who have served and are currently serving America.  We salute you.
